Chris Wells  Artist Statement  

Art is one of the most absorbing activities Chris has in his life. As an artist his work is inspired by the love of the natural world and the landscape of the South West England, particularly water and its relationship with the land. He enjoys the use of colour and perspective in making his work.

Chris's Art draws its audience in and connects with them allowing them to decide for themselves what they might get from it, consciously ,unconsciously or imaginatively. Expressing sometimes literal imagery and sometimes abstract.

Chris works on different types of supports such as canvas, papier-mache and wooden objects using acrylic and oils.

He is particularly inspired by the beautiful counties of Cornwall and Devon where he has lived and worked since 1988. Born in Muswell Hill, London and studied at Dartington College of Arts and Exeter University.
